This inaugural flight, launched on Sunday, June 2, marks the first direct connection between the two regions.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Operated by &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.azoresairlines.pt&quot;&gt;Azores Airlines&lt;/a&gt;, the seasonal flights will run until September 29th, aiming to enhance internal connectivity and promote Portuguese tourism, particularly targeting the North American market. This new route facilitates travel to the Algarve for North Americans, leveraging the existing direct connections between the Azores and the US and Canada.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The domestic route is expected to boost tourism and travel between these national destinations, strengthening the Algarve&#39;s ties with US and Canadian visitors. Flights take around two and a half hours and are scheduled for Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays until the end of September.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In June, Azores Airlines also launched several new direct flights, including routes from North America to Porto, Funchal, Faro, Milan, and London. These include flights from Boston and Toronto to Funchal (Madeira), from New York and Toronto to Porto, and from Ponta Delgada to the Algarve, as well as the reopening of the Ponta Delgada-London route.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To support the viability and potential extension of the new Azores-Algarve route and other connections between the Algarve and North America, regional tourism board &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.turismodoalgarve.pt&quot;&gt;Turismo do Algarve&lt;/a&gt; will conduct 15 promotional activities by the end of the year. These initiatives will include field visits with tour operators, journalists, and influencers, specifically targeting the North American market.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;“Enhanced connectivity and increased tourism from North America might swell interest in Algarve real estate. Potential buyers and investors, particularly from the US and Canada, could be attracted by the ease of access to the Algarve while also enjoying a stopover of up to seven days in the Azores” he explains.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Brian believes local businesses and infrastructure could also benefit from the growing demand for the Algarve, further increasing the region&#39;s appeal.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He adds: “An influx of visitors and prospective buyers from new channels will only help buoy current property prices and demand, benefiting homeowners and investors. On top of that, the promotional activities targeting the North American market will help highlight the Algarve&#39;s potential as a destination, possibly further boosting interest in holiday homes, investment and rental properties, and permanent residences”.&lt;/p&gt;
